ইঞ্জিন চালানোর বা স্থানান্তরের সময় অবলম্বনীয় সতর্কতা : ৩০৪:

Precautions to be taken when moving engines: 304:

(ক) কেবল যোগ্য ও অনুমোদিত ব্যক্তিরাই ইঞ্জিন চালানোর বা স্থানান্তরের অধিকারী। অন্য কোনো ব্যক্তি ইঞ্জিন সচল বা স্থানান্তরিত করলে তাকে চাকরি থেকে বরখাস্ত করা হবে এবং চিফ মেকানিক্যাল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারের বিবেচনা অনুযায়ী তার বিরুদ্ধে আইনি ব্যবস্থা (মামলা) নেওয়া হবে।

(a) Only qualified persons are qualified persons are authorise to move engines any other persons moving an engine will be dismissed, and prosecuted at the discretion of the Chief Mechanical Engineer

(খ) ইঞ্জিনের হুইসেল বা বাঁশি না বাজিয়ে কোনোভাবেই ইঞ্জিন চালানো শুরু করা যাবে না। সাধারণ ট্রেন চলাচল বা ট্রাফিক ইয়ার্ডে এ ধরনের সতর্কবার্তা যথেষ্ট হলেও লোকোমোটিভ ইয়ার্ড বা মেইন লাইনের অ্যাশপিটের (ছাই ফেলার গর্ত) ক্ষেত্রে যেখানে কর্মীদের ইঞ্জিনের নিচে গিয়ে কাজ করতে হয়, সেখানে ড্রাইভার বা শান্টারকে বাষ্পের চাপ বাড়ানো এবং ইঞ্জিন চালানোর পূর্বে পুনরায় অতিরিক্ত সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করতে হবে।

(b) An engine must not be moved without , in the first instance, the engine whistle being sounded. While such warning may suffice in ordinary train or traffic yard movements, in the case of locomotive yards, or main line ashpits where any work has been done necessitating staff going under an engine , the Driver or Shunter must take the additional precaution again, before attempting to open steam and move the engine.

এ ধরনের সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করতে ব্যর্থ হওয়া ড্রাইভার বা শান্টার পদের জন্য অযোগ্যতা নির্দেশ করে এবং সহকর্মীদের নিরাপত্তার প্রতি চরম অবহেলা প্রকাশ করে।

Failure to adopt such precautions, indicates unfitness for the post of Driver or Shunter, and also a disregard for the safety of follow workmen.

(গ) লোকোমোটিভ ইয়ার্ডের ভেতরে ইঞ্জিনের গতিবেগ কোনোভাবেই প্রতি ঘণ্টায় পাঁচ মাইলের বেশি হওয়া যাবে না।

(d) Engines must not be moved at a speed greater than five miles an hour in locomotive yards.

(ঘ) ড্রাইভার বা শান্টারের সাথে ইঞ্জিনে অবশ্যই অন্য একজন ব্যক্তি থাকতে হবে, যিনি হ্যান্ড ব্রেক টানতে এবং সর্বদা চারপাশের পরিস্থিতির ওপর কড়া নজর রাখতে সহায়তা করবেন।

(d) A driver or shunter must have another person on the engine with him . t assist it. putting on the hand brake, and keeping a good lookout at all times.

(ঙ) শেডে প্রবেশ করার পূর্বে ড্রাইভারকে অবশ্যই নিশ্চিত হতে হবে যে lineটি মানুষ এবং অন্য যেকোনো ধরনের প্রতিবন্ধকতা থেকে সম্পূর্ণ মুক্ত আছে। এছাড়া শেডে প্রবেশ করার সময় বা শেড থেকে বের হওয়ার সময় অবশ্যই হুইসেল বাজাতে হবে।

(e) Before entering a shed, the driver must ascertain that the road is clear both of men and any obstruction and must sound his whistle on entering or leaving the shed.
