(ক) ডিউটিরত অবস্থায় মদ্যপান বা নেশাগ্রস্ততার যেকোনো ঘটনা অবিলম্বে জেলা কর্মকর্তাকে জানাতে হবে, যিনি পরবর্তীতে বিষয়টি চিফ মেকানিক্যাল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারকে রিপোর্ট করবেন। অভিযুক্ত কর্মচারীকে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে সাময়িক বরখাস্ত (suspend) করতে হবে এবং সম্ভব হলে যত দ্রুত সম্ভব একজন মেডিকেল অফিসার দ্বারা তার শারীরিক পরীক্ষা করাতে হবে। জেলা কর্মকর্তার কাছে পাঠানো রিপোর্টের সাথে মেডিকেল অফিসারের পরীক্ষার রিপোর্টটি সংযুক্ত করতে হবে。

(a) All cases of drunkenness while on duty must be immediately reported to the District Officer who will report it to the Chief Mechanical Engineer . The offender must be suspended, and when practicable, examined by a Medical Officer with the least possible delay. The report of the Medical Officer should accompany the report sent to the District Officer.

যদি কোনো রেলওয়ে কর্মচারী ডিউটিরত অবস্থায় নেশাগ্রস্ত থাকেন, তবে তাকে অনধিক ৫০ টাকা জরিমানা করা হবে; অথবা যদি তার দায়িত্বে অবহেলার কারণে রেলওয়েতে ভ্রমণকারী বা অবস্থানকারী কোনো ব্যক্তির নিরাপত্তা বিঘ্নিত হওয়ার আশঙ্কা থাকে, তবে তাকে অনধিক এক বছর মেয়াদের কারাদণ্ড, বা জরিমানা, অথবা উভয় দণ্ডে দণ্ডিত করা হবে।

If a railway servant is in state of intoxication while on duty, he shall be punished with a fine , which may extend to Rs 50/ or ,where the improper performance of the duty would be likely to endanger the safety of any person traveling or being upon a Railway, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine , or with both.

(খ) কোনো কর্মচারী রেলওয়ের সীমানার মধ্যে কোনো ধরনের মাদকদ্রব্য বা নেশাজাতীয় পানীয় নিয়ে আসলে তাকে চাকরি থেকে বরখাস্ত করা হতে পারে।

(b) An employee bringing intoxicating drinks on to Railway premises will be liable to dismissal.
