(১) দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষার জন্য কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের শ্রেণিবিন্যাস: দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষার উদ্দেশ্যে, রেলওয়ে চাকরিতে নিয়োগের জন্য আবেদনকারী সমস্ত প্রার্থী এবং কর্মরত সকল কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের গ্রুপ ও শ্রেণী অনুযায়ী নিচের শ্রেণিবিন্যাসের উপযুক্ত ক্যাটাগরিতে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হবে। যথা: ক. জননিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষা আবশ্যক।

(1) Classification of Staff for eye sight examination : For purposes of vision tests, all candidates for appointment to, and all employees engaged in, the Staff Railway service will be allocated, by group and class , to the appropriate category in the following classification. viz : A. Vision test required in the interests of public safety.

এ১ (A1): ফুটপ্লেট কর্মী (ইঞ্জিন চালক ও সহকারী), রেলকার চালক, নৌযান চালনা কর্মী। এ২ (A2): অন্যান্য রানিং স্টাফ, শান্টিং কর্মী, পয়েন্ট লকার, স্টেশন মাস্টার এবং সিগন্যাল নিয়ন্ত্রণের সাথে সরাসরি যুক্ত অন্যান্য কর্মী। এ৩ (A3): লোকোমোটিভ, সিগন্যাল ও পরিবহন পরিদর্শক। ট্রলি চালানোর জন্য অনুমোদিত সকল কর্মী। ইয়ার্ডের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক কর্মী, রোড মোটর চালক। লেভেল ক্রসিংয়ের গেট কিপার বা গেটম্যান।

A1 : Foot plate staff, Rail Car Drivers, Navigating staff. A2. Other Running staff, shunting staff, points lockers, station Masters and other staff operative control of signals. A3. Locomotive, signal and Transportation inspectors. All staff authorized to work trolleys. Yard supervisory staff, Road Motor Drivers. Gate keepers on level crossings.

খ (B): স্বয়ং কর্মী, তার সহকর্মী অথবা উভয়ের নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষা আবশ্যক। বি১ (B1): স্টেশন ও ইয়ার্ডের এমন সকল অ-তত্ত্বাবধায়ক শেড এবং অন্যান্য কর্মী, যারা এমন সব দায়িত্বে নিয়োজিত যেখানে দৃষ্টিশক্তি দুর্বল হলে চলন্ত যানবাহনের কারণে তারা নিজেরা বা অন্যান্য কর্মীরা বিপদে পড়তে পারেন। পার্মানেন্ট ওয়ের মিস্ত্রি (P-Way Mistries), গ্যাং মেট এবং কি-ম্যান (Key man)। সহকারী সার্জন, স্বাস্থ্য সহকারী এবং উপ-সহকারী সার্জন।

B : Vision tests required in the interests of the employee him self his follow workers, or both. খ (B): স্বয়ং কর্মী, তার সহকর্মী অথবা উভয়ের নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষা আবশ্যক। বি২ (B2): ওয়ার্কশপ এবং ইঞ্জিন রুমের নির্দিষ্ট কিছু কর্মী যারা এমন সব দায়িত্বে নিয়োজিত যেখানে দৃষ্টিশক্তি দুর্বল হলে যন্ত্রপাতির ঘূর্ণনশীল বা চলন্ত অংশের কারণে তারা নিজেরা বা অন্যান্য কর্মীরা দুর্ঘটনার শিকার হতে পারেন, ওপেন লাইনের ক্রেন চালক।

B : Vision tests required in the interest of the employee, himself , his fellow worker , or both. : B2: Certain staff in workshops and engine rooms engaged on duties where failing eye sight may endanger themselves or other employees from moving parts of machinery, Crane Drivers on open line.

গ (C): শুধুমাত্র রেলওয়ে প্রশাসনের স্বার্থে দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষা আবশ্যক: সি১ (C1): ওয়ার্কশপ এবং ইঞ্জিন রুমের অন্যান্য কর্মী। জাহাজের স্টোকার (কয়লা নিক্ষেপকারী), এবং অন্যান্য কর্মী যাদের কাজের দক্ষতার জন্য দাপ্তরিক (clerical) বা সমজাতীয় পেশার চেয়ে উন্নত মানের দৃষ্টিশক্তির প্রয়োজন হয়। সি২ (C2): দাপ্তরিক ও সমজাতীয় পেশায় নিয়োজিত কর্মী এবং গ্রুপ 'ক' ও 'খ' অথবা 'সি১' শ্রেণীর আওতাভুক্ত নন এমন অন্যান্য কর্মী।

C : Vision tests required in the interests of the Administration only: C1 : Other workshop and engine room staff . Ship stokers, Other staff in whom a higher stand ard of vision than is required in clerical and kindred occupations is necessary for reasons of efficiency. C2 : Staff in clerical and kindred occupations, and others not coming under Groups A or B or under Class C1:

(৩) কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের দৃষ্টিশক্তি পুনঃপরীক্ষা:

(3) Re examination of eye sight of employees:

(ক) পর্যায়ক্রমিক পুনঃপরীক্ষা: (১) এ১, এ২, এ৩, বি১ ও বি২ শ্রেণীর কর্মচারীরা যাতে নিরাপদে তাদের দায়িত্ব পালন করতে পারেন এবং তাদের দৃষ্টিশক্তির কার্যকারিতা বজায় থাকে, তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য চাকরি জীবনে নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর পর তাদের দৃষ্টিশক্তি পুনঃপরীক্ষার জন্য উপস্থিত হতে হবে। যথা:

(a) Periodical reexamination : (i) In order to ensure the continued ability of employees in class A1, A2,A3,B1,B2 to discharge their duties with safety , they will be required to appear for reexamination at the following stated intervals throughout their service viz:

এ১, এ২ এবং এ৩ শ্রেণীর কর্মচারীদের ক্ষেত্রে, নিয়োগের তারিখ থেকে ৪৫ বছর বয়স পর্যন্ত প্রতি তিন বছর পর পর এবং ৪৫ বছর বয়সের পর থেকে চাকরি জীবন শেষ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত প্রতি বছর এই পরীক্ষা করাতে হবে।

Classes A1 , A2, and A3 at the termination of every period of three years calculated from the date appointment until they attain the age of 45 years. and thereafter annually until the conclusion of their service .

যখন কোনো চালকের বিরুদ্ধে সিগন্যাল অমান্য করে ট্রেন চালানোর অভিযোগ পাওয়া যাবে, তখন ট্রেনটি যে স্টেশনে গিয়ে থামবে সেখানকার ফোরম্যানকে অবিলম্বে তারবার বার্তার (wire) মাধ্যমে বিষয়টি জানাতে হবে। চালককে যত দ্রুত সম্ভব দায়িত্ব থেকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া অত্যন্ত জরুরি যাতে তার দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষা করা যায়।

When a Driver is reported for running against signals, the accident should be reported by wire to the Foreman of the station where the train terminates, as it is necessary that the driver should be put off duty as early as possible in order to have his eye sight tested.

বি১ এবং বি২ শ্রেণীর কর্মচারীদের ক্ষেত্রে, ৪৫ বছর বয়সে পদার্পণ করলে একবার এবং পরবর্তীতে ৫০ বছর বয়সে পৌঁছালে পুনরায় পরীক্ষা করাতে হবে।

Class B1 and B2 . on attaining the age of 45 years, and again on attaining the age of 50 years.

(২) সি১ এবং সি২ শ্রেণীর কর্মচারীদের চাকরি জীবনে নিয়মিত পর্যায়ক্রমিক দৃষ্টিশক্তি পুনঃপরীক্ষা দেওয়ার প্রয়োজন হবে না।

(ii) Employees in classes C1 and C2 will not be required to pass regular periodical re examinations during the course of their service.

(৩) সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মচারী যাতে যথাসময়ে উপযুক্ত অনুমোদিত পরীক্ষকের সামনে উপস্থিত হন, তা নিশ্চিত করার দায়িত্ব সর্বদা নিয়োগকারী শাখা বা বিভাগের ওপর ন্যস্ত থাকবে।

(iii) The employing branch or department will in every case be responsible for the punctual appearance of the employee before the approximate authorized examiner.

(খ) উচ্চতর শ্রেণীতে পদোন্নতির পূর্বে পুনঃপরীক্ষা আবশ্যক:

(b) Re examination necessary before promotion to higher class :

কোনো কর্মচারীকে সাময়িক বা স্থায়ী কোনোভাবেই তার বর্তমান যোগ্যতার চেয়ে উচ্চতর শ্রেণীর কাজে নিয়োজিত করা যাবে না, যতক্ষণ না তিনি নতুন পদের জন্য উপযুক্ততার সনদপত্র লাভ করছেন।

An employee must not be engaged to work, whether temporarily or permenently, in a class higher than that for whih he has been certified fit, until he has obtained a certificate of competence in respect of the new employ.

(গ) যখন কোনো চালক (ড্রাইভার), শান্টার বা ফায়ারম্যানকে দৃষ্টিশক্তি পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হওয়ার জন্য চশমা ব্যবহারের অনুমতি দেওয়া হয়, তখন নিম্নলিখিত শর্তগুলো অবশ্যই মেনে চলতে হবে: তাকে কোনো নামী অপটিশিয়ান প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে দুই জোড়া চশমা সংগ্রহ করতে হবে এবং এই মর্মে লিখিত অঙ্গীকারনামা দিতে হবে যে তিনি ডিউটিরত অবস্থায় উভয় জোড়া চশমা সাথে রাখবেন। যদি কোনো কারণে এক জোড়া চশমা ভেঙে যায় বা হারিয়ে যায়, তবে অবিলম্বে রানিং শেড ফোরম্যানকে জানাতে হবে। ফোরম্যান তাকে জেলা মেডিকেল অফিসারের কাছে পাঠানোর ব্যবস্থা করবেন, যিনি অবশিষ্ট চশমাটি দিয়ে তার দৃষ্টিশক্তি পুনরায় পরীক্ষা করবেন এবং চালকের কাছে যাতে সবসময় দুই জোড়া উপযুক্ত চশমা থাকে তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় নির্দেশনা জারি করবেন।

(c) When a driver shunter or Fireman is permitted to use spectacles for the purpose of passing the required eye sight examination, the following conditions must be observed : He must provide himself with two pairs of spectacles from a reputable firm of opticians, and must give a written undertaking that he will carry both pairs on duty, and should he break or lose one pair, must at once report the occurrence to the Runing Shed Foreman, who will arrange for him to be sent to the District Medical Officer, who will retest him with the remaining pair of glasses , and issue such instructions as will ensure that the driver will possess two pairs of suitable spectacles.
